Getting on the housing ladder proved much easier than expected for Walsall couple Richard and Alex Poole.

Richard, an administrator, and Alex, a nurse, bought a property at Cameron Homes’ Chestnut Rise development in Rushall earlier this year.

The couple have a two year old son and wanted to move out of their rented property into their own home.

They chose a three-bed semi detached Appleton design at Chestnut Rise, using the government’s Help to Buy scheme which offered a 20% loan towards the cost of the £199,000 house.

“Everything worked out really well and we completed in around six weeks,” says Richard.

“The sales advisors were great, offering to help with carpets, curtains and legal fees. We also received holiday vouchers which we will be using for a trip to celebrate my 30th birthday next year.

“Even though Cameron are still building at Chestnut Rise the site staff are very courteous and tidy.

“We have settled in well and cannot fault anything at all – we are very happy,” he added.

Cameron Homes is building a selection of 26 three and four-bedroom family properties at Chestnut Rise, with current prices ranging from just two 3-bedroom semi-detached homes remaining at £200,950.
