How to shut off your water
How to shut off your water
- Find your stop tap. This will have been pointed out by a member of our team when you moved in. It is clearly labelled
- Once you’ve located your stop tap, you’ll need to turn it clockwise until it won’t go any further
- Turn your taps downstairs to check that you have turned the water off. You may find that a little water still comes out – that’s normal and just means water in the pipes is making its way down
TURNING YOUR WATER BACK ON AGAIN
- Make sure all your taps are turned off
- Turn the stop tap anti-clockwise until it won’t go any further
- Turn any tap on to check that everything’s working properly. You may find that the tap spits. Don’t worry, that’s just air in the pipes making its way out.
How to switch off your electricity
- Go to your consumer unit. Your electrical consumer unit will have been pointed out by a member of our team
- Switch off the main red switch – this turns off ALL electricity coming into your house
