A home only achieves the Buildmark warranty if it passes a number of checks throughout the entire construction process. NHBC inspectors come to site and check the construction at 5 key stages:
1. Foundation
2. Drainage
3. Superstructure (brick work up to roof)
4. Roof structure
5. Pre plaster
6. Pre handover inspection
The final stage generates a certificate that is sent to your solicitor, in order for them to release mortgage monies at the point of your completion. This also generates your insurance guarantee, which is valid for ten years from the date of issue.
