We have an exciting new opportunity to join the Cameron Office team as an Graduate Engineer! 
This role would suit someone who is confident, ambitious and willing to learn whilst undertaking an apprenticeship alongside the job role.

We are part of the Tara Group consisting of Chasetown Civil Engineering, specialising in infrastructure and groundworks, and Keon Homes who work in partnership with local authorities for affordable homes provision as well as delivering homes for the private rental sector (PRS).

The Tara Group is a family-owned independent company, consisting of four companies involved in the construction of housing. It was originally founded in 1974 by Noel Sweeney and remains in the ownership of the Sweeney Family.  With offices in Chasetown, we employ over 250 across our group and work with over 400 sub-contractors.

Responsibilities

Working with the Senior Engineer, this role will assist with Engineering aspects of upcoming development sites, coordinating efficiently and accurately evaluating key information to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of developments. You will work closely with other departments where necessary ensuring cost effective and buildable designs are provided. The role will be responsible for: 

  • Overseeing programmes, ensuring information is provided in a timely manner to enable the Company to meet its delivery programmes
  • Supporting the appointment of engineering consultants, management and issuing documentation to support planning applications including Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage strategies, Engineering Strategies, and other reports as necessary
  • Assisting with the completion of road layout and drive layout designs to verify tracking and to meet the requirements of local authority and building regulation approval
  • Assisting with the obtaining of service infrastructure information for inclusion in planning application such as substation and pump station locations
  • Supporting with the obtaining of supplemental ground investigation reports and reviewing where necessary 
  • Assisting where required with the completion of land due diligence process for engineering aspects
  • Assisting with the commission of engineering appraisal for site including levels, SuDS, drainage, roads and foundations
  • Management and production of constraints plans
  • Supporting with the commission and review of highways access designs, including the verification of S278 works
  • Supporting with services capacity analysis and point of connection requirements
  • Assisting with obtaining detailed design drawings, information for S38, S104, S185, S278 and other technical approval submissions
  • Assisting in adoption process of S38, S104, S184, S278 or other agreements where required
  • Supporting with applying for and obtaining S106 sewer connection permits and water course consents
  • Attending site meetings to resolve issues and provide engineering input
  • Managing and maintaining bond and fee trackers and prepare cost movement reports
  • Work closely with Technical, Commercial and Delivery teams throughout the life cycle of the site to ensure timely and cost-effective development sites

 

What we expect from you

  • Engineering degree, 2:1 or above
  • A high degree of commercial awareness
  • Proficient ability in using AutoCAD, further training can be provided
  • Knowledge and appreciation of UK building regulations and health and safety regulations within the industry
  • Strong relationships builder
  • Passion for our homes and products
  • Professional and knowledgeable with the ability to build trust and credibility with people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels both internal and external to the business
