As we approach the festive season, it's time to transform your home into a cosy Christmas space ready to welcome guests for the holidays. From outdoor decorations to creating beautiful dining table displays, with just a few simple touches your home will be ready for Christmas in no time.

Where to start?

New build homes provide the perfect blank canvas for you to embrace your own theme and style. It’s all centred around the Christmas tree that complements your home's decor, whether that’s a real pine tree or an artificial one to allow you to get the dimensions just right. Then it’s time for the fun bit, decorating it.

In other areas of the house, garlands can add a festive touch to mantelpieces, windowsills and staircases, and continue the theme throughout the home.

Let’s not forget upstairs too, if you have young children, you can add some sparkle to their bedrooms with mini Christmas trees and decorations or by hanging their stockings on the end of the beds.

Cosy living spaces

To create a snug living space, layer your main living room and family areas with soft throws and blankets that are rich red and deep green colours. You can also further enhance the cosy spaces in your home with candles and diffusers in festive scents such as pine or frankincense.

Creating a Christmas tablescape

Take inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram to create a stunning table layout for Christmas lunch. Select a theme and then set the table with festive tablecloths, napkins, and centrepieces to extend the decorations beyond the Christmas tree.

Outdoor decorations

Finally, your home’s exterior decorations really set the scene for guests on arrival. Simple yet effective decorations such as solar-powered fairy lights for outside trees and a wreath for your front door, are quick and easy additions. You can elevate this even further by adding pre-lit planters and garlands around the front door.

Whether you're celebrating your first Christmas in your new home or just planning to create new memories, it's time to get ready for the big day and enjoy all the festive fun.
