Your home is fitted with a mains wired smoke alarm on both ground and first floors. Both alarms have a battery fitted as back up in case of power failure.
- You should dust and clean your alarms on a regular basis
- Once a month, check each alarm is working by pressing the test button to hear the alarm sound
- You will need to change the battery in your alarm periodically. It usually beeps when it requires replacement batteries. Full instruction details can be found in the instruction manual or on the manufacturers website
- It’s important to hoover or clean all alarms regularly, as they can be sensitive to dust build up and occasionally be set off in error
