The Anchor Inn is a traditional pub located in a beautiful countryside setting in Hurley Common, between the villages of Hurley and Wood End. They pride themselves on serving great beer, great food and offering a warm welcome to all customers old and new! They are also home to a football team, two dominoes teams, a pool team and a pigeon racing club.

Derby Museum and Art Gallery is located at the heart of Derby City in the cultural Cathedral Quarter. The museum houses a dedicated gallery of internationally significant paintings by world famous artist Joseph Wright of Derby, alongside a new display of portraits from the museum's large art collection, and a lively programme of temporary exhibitions. The museum is also home to an outstanding collection of Derby Porcelain, displays of local archaeology, natural history, and military history.

Kirk Langley Cricket Club

Kirk Langley CC is a friendly village club who have a long history dating back to 1857. They play their home matches at the picturesque G B Barrington Playing Field named after a teacher who arrived in the village in 1876 who went on to play cricket for Derbyshire and devoted over 50 years to Kirk Langley Cricket Club. Following his death, his daughter bought the village cricket ground and bequeathed it to the parish. The club fields two senior teams in the Derbyshire County Cricket League and also plays a number of friendly games during the season.
